Improving employee performance in the construction industry
In the recent Business in Vancouver VRCA Construction Feature (page C10) Cori was interviewed about how to prevent poor performance in the construction industry.
“Mistakes, poor work performance, low morale, absenteeism, presentism (there in body but not mind) and high rates of turnover are all indications that a company’s performance is suffering. They are all symptoms of a bigger problem that is happening.”
“Companies are often unaware they have a problem until they notice that their productivity is declining on job sites. Because foremen and supervisors are focused on bringing in a project on deadline, they fail to pay attention to the trends that are occurring.”
At the VRCA Construction Learning Forum on May 23rd and 24th, Cori Maedel, Vancouver HR Consultant, will speak on how to spot the symptoms of waning performance and how to apply several methods to solve problems before they hurt productivity.
