Reaching out to support for women and children escaping abuse
This December the Jouta team is volunteering at the YWCA’s Munroe House and we’d love your support.
Since 1979, Munroe House has been a transition house that offers a secure and supportive home for women and their children escaping abuse. These brave women have often left absolutely everything behind in order to start a new life, free of abuse.
On the morning of December 21st, we’ll be running craft activities with the families at Munroe House and are hoping to take a car load (or van load, if we can find one to borrow!) of donations for them. The YWCA are looking in particular for women’s gifts, especially self-care items and things for the home: products for the bath/kitchen/home, winter scarves, candles, teapots, aromatherapy diffusers and oil, pyjamas, slippers, or even boxes of chocolates, coffee or tea.
We want to give these incredible women the very best possible start for when they transition from Munroe House; even the smallest item would be such an amazing help.
All donations are kindly requested to be dropped off at (or mailed to) the Jouta Performance Group offices (300 – 1055 West Hastings Street Vancouver, BC V6E 2E9) between the hours of 9am and 4pm, by December 17th, 2010.
