Personal Coaching Testimonials

A testimonial by Sheri Kashman:
A few years before I became a Jouta employee, I participated in Kokoro(e) group coaching for about six months. My coaching group was led by Cori and comprised of four women in various stages of their careers. While there was a structure and purpose to our sessions, the content was largely based on what came up organically in the group. At that point, we were all in professional limbo—not sure where we were going or what we wanted to do next but all knowing that what we were currently doing either wasn’t right, enough, or working in some way. With an orientation to what we wanted (instead of what we didn’t want, we focused on the stuff that kept coming up for us in some way—whether that was something tangible we consciously knew we wanted or an idea or concept that kept popping into our minds or our dreams.
As a result of these sessions, I identified, sought out, pursued and achieved one of my most fortunate opportunities—a contract position and paid relocation to Brisbane, Australia. Though it was a tough decision and I turned down other great opportunities as a result, I believe the experience, the resulting life changes and the place I’m in now all flow from those powerful sessions, which provided me with both the motivation and courage to take that leap.
Current working relationships aside, I highly recommend and value Cori as a coach and mentor. She’s professional, experienced, genuine, funny, spiritual and uses the right blend of logic and intuition. Her approach is very cool and I don’t know anyone who has worked with her who hasn’t gotten something pretty significant out of it. Of course, it’s not just about being in professional limbo—that just happened to be what our group was about. It’s really about anything that comes up for you…..
A testimonial by Andrew Fodor:
After nearly a decade of developing my professional career, I was recently given the opportunity to review and reconsider my career path. Through that process, I found myself looking back on a collage of skills and experience, but was unable to focus on the learning and experience that really mattered, let alone determine what new path to venture upon.
Using very simple and effective tools, Jim’s expert coaching method of listening and offering subtle guidance allowed me to develop an understanding of these skills and abilities. In a very short time, my one-on-one coaching sessions with Jim became an empowering platform to identify my current benchmarks and realize which directions my vocational passions were pointing.
Career coaching with the Jouta Performance Group quickly helped me realize that I could choose to go in more directions than I had imagined.
I continue to use the lessons and methods learned in my coaching sessions at Jouta to ensure I am professionally on course.

When I got up yesterday morning I could never imagine how important this meeting would be in my journey. Over the years, I have helped many, many people match their dreams and heart with their job/work endeavours. A lot of these were senior students, but many were friends, family and organizations I worked or volunteered for. Anybody, anything, I just love to do this. For many years, as a senior high school teacher, this was my livelihood as well as my calling. Then life started to change. And I often thought I could benefit from the same kind of matching I did for others, in order to keep up with the changes in my life. But try as I might, I could not seem to do this for myself. Nor did I ever meet a person who could help me do my personal matching. Until yesterday. Until you [Cori Maedel]. You helped bring clarity to the “matching” in my heart. You helped me see the priority order that I wanted to do—now, at this point in time. Thanks for the clarity and natural order for my business. I am truly humbled by our meeting and the outcome.
Over the past two years I have had an opportunity to meet with Cori to seek assistance on several occasions as it relates to various situations regarding how to communicate, resolve or manage employee or organizational dilemmas.
The first thing I recognize about Cori’s skill set is her ability to be approachable and non-judgmental when working with me. She is a safe person to approach, and that feedback will be provided in a respectful way. I know I can rely on her to ask me questions that will force me to get to the core of what is really going on. It’s really only then that I figured out what my next step would be.
Recently, I was reflecting on some feedback that Cori had given me regarding my leadership skills, and some improvements to my style, where I initially walked away feeling a bit under the microscope, and then realized that she only coaches those that want to learn. The truth is that this is a very important part of being a successful coach.
Cori has not only given me some tools but I have also learned some by observing her in a coaching role that I have been able to use in both my professional and my personal life.
